Ajay Mehra (from previous Ghayal-1990), after finishing off his life
sentence, starts a newspaper called Satyakam. Still dealing with the
haunting trauma of losing his loved ones, Ajay manages to make a
credible name for himself in investigative journalism. Working with a
strange team of RTI activists, ex-criminals and ilk; and even stranger
ways of unearthing and presenting truth, Ajay Mehra has earned quite a
fan following among the youths, who finds his fearless and unforgiving
approach in dealing with all kinds of sociopaths very inspiring. Among
his die hard fans are these four teenagers who happened to have received
bravery medals from him once. These four friends once out on
photography expedition, accidentally record a murder on a camera. The
footage turns out to be explosive as it clearly shows two of the city's
most powerful people involved in the murder. Well what happens after
this is a series of twists and turns where the four kids get entangled
and have to fight it out ...
Movie Reviews
Sunny's action scenes
in Ghayal Once Again are as slick now by contemporary standards of
on-screen action as they were by the standards of 1990s when he did the
first blockbuster Ghayal." The film opens 14 years after the point where
the first film ended. And yes, for a change this sequel has a sense of
continuity in its plot movement.Sunny plays the same character Ajay
Mehra that he played in Ghayal 26 years ago He has spent 14 years in
jail, and comes out disturbed disoriented and ready to take on
corruption all over again. This time his target is white-collar
corruption which he and his four disciples, played by four very
promising newcomers ,take on through RTIs.When all fails, the fist of
fury flies like it has not aged at all There is no one who can do stunts
like him now. Ghayal Once Again Proves it.What's more Sunny is not only
shown to be all- powerful. There are vulnerable moments when his past
from the first Ghayal film comes to haunt him. His trauma is attended to
by a doctor played by Soha Ali Khan"Sunny plays both the powerful
action machine and the hurt wounded human being equally well. This is
his most mature and sensitive performance to date.As a director Sunny
has done as good a job as Raj Kumar Santoshi had done with the first
Ghayal. I am completely bowled over by the film."
